1. Information We Collect

Email address. When you subscribe to The Pausestack Brief, we collect your email address. This is the only piece of personally identifiable information we intentionally collect.

Anonymous click data. When you click an affiliate link (routed through our /go/ system), we log that a click occurred, the referring page URL, and a timestamp. We do not log your IP address, browser fingerprint, or any identifying information alongside click events.

Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, your preference is saved to localStorage in your browser. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Standard server logs. Like all web servers, our hosting provider may automatically log IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps as part of normal server operation. We do not actively use this data for analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Email: To send The Pausestack Brief newsletter (reviews, guides, and menopause tech updates). We send no more than once per week and never share your address with third parties for their own marketing.
• Click data: To understand which content is most useful, track affiliate link performance, and maintain accurate links over time.
• No profiling: We do not build individual profiles, track you across other websites, or use retargeting advertising.

3. Email Communications

By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to receive periodic email from Pausestack. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing [email protected] with “unsubscribe” in the subject line.

We do not send promotional emails on behalf of third-party brands. The newsletter contains our editorial content only. Affiliate links within the newsletter are disclosed in the same way as on the website.

4. Affiliate Partners and Third Parties

When you click an affiliate link and visit a third-party site (e.g., Amazon), that site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over and no responsibility for the data practices of external retailers or affiliate programs.

We share no personal data with affiliate programs. The affiliate tracking is handled through URL parameters (e.g., ?tag=revlynk-20) — these tell the retailer that Pausestack referred the visit, but they do not transmit your personal information to us.

5. Data Storage and Security

Email addresses and click event logs are stored in a Turso (libSQL) database hosted on infrastructure in the United States. We apply standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS) and token-based database authentication.

No data storage method is 100% secure. We recommend using a strong, unique email address and not sharing sensitive health information in any communications with us.

6. Your Rights

• Access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion: You can request deletion of your email address and any associated data at any time.
• Correction: If your email address changes, contact us to update it.
• Portability: We can provide your data in a machine-readable format on request.

7. Cookies

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We do not integrate Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar surveillance-based analytics tools. Theme preference is stored in localStorage, not cookies. Your browser's cookie jar is not used by this site.

8. Children's Privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has submitted their email to our newsletter, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
